I, LaKendra Harper, is a distinguished real estate broker, mentor, and entrepreneur at the helm of The Five Star Team in Houston, Texas. My journey in real estate is not just about transactions; it's about making real impacts and fostering community growth.
Born and raised in Houston, I graduated from Westbury High School in 2001 and furthered my education at Texas Southern University, earning a Bachelor of Social Work in 2005. For over a decade, I dedicated myself to social service, working as a foster care case manager, which ingrained in me a deep sense of community and service. This foundation has been integral in my transition to real estate, where I blend my passion for people with my business acumen.
In 2017, I took a significant step by founding The Five Star Team, recognizing my unique ability to lead and mentor upcoming realtors. Under my leadership, our team has grown to 19 members and achieved numerous performance milestones. My efforts were notably recognized when I was invited as a speaker at the More 2.0 conference in Las Vegas in 2023, and more recently, I was thrilled to join as a host for the Emmy-nominated American Dream TV Houston in 2024.
I am also a co-author of "Women Who Boss Up in Real Estate 2.0," which has been honored as an Amazon #1 International Best Seller. This accolade underscores our pioneering approach and leadership in the real estate sector.
True success comes from giving back. With a motto of "Selling Houston, Serving the Community," my team and I are deeply involved in local service initiatives. From sponsoring Thanksgiving meals and organizing Secret Santa events to running food pantry giveaways and hosting educational symposiums on home buying and credit repair, we are committed to enriching the lives of those around us.
